Toni Maticevski's showdown last sunday at the opening of The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Sydney was a beautiful reminder that some talent can only be sent from the heavens above. Maticevski is the ultimate dream weaver.

I must admit, I do have a soft spot for Toni.... this spunky guy is not only one of the best creators out there but he is also the biggest sweetheart!

I was completely beside myself knowing that I had this platform, Studio to Street to share with you all just what my eyes witnessed. Was I excited?!! Yes is an understatement. It could have been the empowering drums in the opening soundtrack that Mr Maticevski composed himself with Tim Harvey or the swarm of photographers and their cameras clicking away like thirsty mosquitos in the media pitt adjacent to us, but I could have totally peed my pants from the charged atmosphere of anticipation. It was like we all could smell the sweetness that was about to unfold.

As an admirer, supporter and friend from our little 'ballet army' (quoting Miss Lockett), I was immensely excited and proud as my eyes gazed on the flight of his bewitching creations

There is no doubt why MBFWS asked Toni Maticevski to open fashion week this year. Like, no brainer! It was all class act and beauty personified into the threads and fabrics that glided along the glossy white & gold runway.

His Resort 17 collection resembled armoured butterflies ready to evoke, allure and take flight in elegance. Floaty voluminous dream like gowns and delicate drapes revealing the most feminine and alluring parts of a females silhouette accompanied with hard, edgy, provocative encrusted necklaces, hand cuffs and mouth adornments. A combination of dark, sexy, pleasurable, power and pure elegance with noted silhouettes inspired from the 80's and 5o's . Dresses ready to seduce and empower with one delicate flutter.

Wow... what I witnessed cannot be put into words so here are some images from Maticevski's opening of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

It's all in the details... Jewellery by Ryan Storer and metal spidery neckline accessories by Toni Maticevski.

Jesus, it was difficult to narrow down my favorite looks of the day. So I simply didn't. Enjoy!

Actually I'll take that back. My favorite look of the whole collection has got to be this look of love and admiration from Toni's own love, Rohan Furnell at the moment the maestro of couture walked out for his final bow... and this look of sheer enjoyment after a huge accomplishment from the dream weaver himself.

What I wore....

Wearing MATICEVSKI skirt, with a cropped black T-shirt from TOPSHOP, ALEXANDER WANG boots and COMME DE GARCON leather pouch.

Pictured here with the off duty ballerinas from the Australian Ballet, Amber Scott, Amanda McGuigan, Alice Topp, Brooke Lockett and our leading male danseur Ty King-Wall.

With special thanks...
